Monthly Enrighment Academic Team: $25 = one service hour

At the Santa Ynez Valley Charter School we strive to provide the best educational experience in the Valley. Like many schools, we are faced with mandatory fundraising to provide art, music, technology, field trips, physical education, art supplies and P.E. equipment. State funding does not provide public schools with enough money to support these “extras”, but we believe these programs are necessary to educate the whole child. Our commitment to this philosophy includes the expectations that each family will contribute what they can.

The Monthly Enrichment Academic Team (M.E.A.T.) was created by a group of parents to help alleviate the amount of fundraising effort and give families a choice in how they wish to support our school. The M.E.A.T. program enables the school to raise funds by direct donations. Your family decides on a comfortable donation amount and you will receive a monthly pledge reminder each month. Just write out a check and send it to the office in the envelope provided. It’s that easy! Unlike traditional fundraising where we earn only a percentage of the monies, every cent goes directly to our school. Grandparents and other relatives are encouraged to also sign on. What an opportunity to provide support to a grandson’s or granddaughter’s education!

This year, every $25 you donate to M.E.A.T. program earns you one service hour. As you may know, our Charter school requires each family to donate 3 hours a month of volunteer time per child. If you are a working parent with little time to volunteer, the monthly donation program is for you.

You may have noticed the green dragon sign in front of the school. The flames will soon be colored in red for every dollar we earn for the school through the M.E.A.T. program. Our goal for the year is $20,000. Please send in your pledge today and help enrich your child’s education!

Call our office if you have any other questions!
